It has come to the notice of the Post-Primary Schools Board that public school students in SS 3 and JS 3, have not been turning up in schools to attend the extension holiday classes authorized by the State Government through a directive from the Office of the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Gentle Emelah to prepare public secondary school students in the affected classes of SS 3 and JS 3 adequately for the forthcoming terminal examinations for WAEC, NECO (SSCE) and Junior Secondary Continuous Examinations (JSCE).
To this end, the Executive Chairman of the Post-Primary Schools Board, High Chief Millionaire Asangba, has set up supervisory teams in all zonal boards across the eight Local Government Areas to pay unscheduled visits to all public schools to ensure strict compliance with this directive.
Chief Asangba warns that defaulters of this directive – be they principals and teachers in public secondary schools or affected students in the concerned classes of SS 3 and JS 3 – shall face disciplinary action if found culpable of absenteeism and truancy by the supervisory teams during this holiday period.
The PPSB boss calls on parents, guardians, teachers and principals to strictly comply with this directive and allow their children and wards in SS 3 and JS 3 in Public SecondarySchools to attend extension classes for the holiday period in order to prepare them adequately for the above examinations so as to maintain the enviable record of the Governor Douye Diri administration in the education sectorf.
