A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa state, Sunny-Frank-Oputu says, the party is poised to conduct a free and fair ward congresses devoid of rancor and acrimony.
He spoke exclusively to our correspondent on phone of the ward congresses billed for next week Saturday.
According to him his faction of the party has bought forms for all the positions scheduled for contests in all the wards, adding that all contestants are in high spirit waiting for the d-day.
Sunny Frank-Oputu who is is a strong member of the APC’s faction headed by a former Minister of state for Agriculture, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri is upbeat that the party would come out stronger.
“As I speak to you we have bought forms for all the positions in all the words in the state, the other faction has not even bought forms.”
Sunny Frank-Oputu who also was a one-time chairman of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) hinted that his faction of the party spent N7. 45million for the purchase of the forms for all contestants and expressed the believe that the APC is one strong and a untied family in Bayelsa State.
The Southern-Ijaw Local Government born APC stalwart emphasized that any attempt to scuttle the peaceful congresses shall be resisted with all legal actions and warned the Chief Timipre Sylva led faction to face the realities of defeat.
“We would not allow Chief Timipre Sylva to play on our intelligence any more, any move by him to deceive us would be challenged in the court of law.”
