Bayelsa LG Commission boss, Ototo harps on Training and retraining of all cadres of Workers

 

Chairman, Local Government Service Commission Bayelsa State, Chief Lambert Ototo has reiterated that to achieve maximum results in every strata of the local government Councils, workers of all the various departments must continuously undergo trainings in their specialized areas.

Speaking during a three day Workshop organized by the Commission in collaboration with Alphakey Consulting Company for Clerical Officers of the Unified Local Government System in Yenagoa, Chief Ototo charged the participants to be focused as the training will equip them for effective service delivery.

Similarly, Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Comrade Gowon Toruyouyei said as a beneficiary of many trainings, it is the Commission’s core mandate to train and retrain staff, therefore the clerical Officers should take advantage of it to enhance capacity.

Lending their voices, Commissioner representing Ekeremor LGA in the Commission, Mr Awipi Odudu and his Sagbama LGA counterpart, Prince Austin Igbagara urged the trainees to be of exemplary behaviour before their colleagues who did not have the opportunity to be selected for the workshop.

Appreciating the Commission for the rare privilege to be trained, clerical Officers from Okoroma/Tereke Rural Development Area in Nembe LGA, Mr, Sokari Akpila (Junior) and Deborah Emmanuel from Kolokuma/Opokuma expressed delight that the workshop has no doubt sharpen their skills on the job.

While the Resource persons, retired Director, Local Government Service Commission Bayelsa State, Mr B.T. Andrew, Director, Office of The Head Of Service Bayelsa State, Dr. Hamilton Ekeke, Management Consultant, Mr. Frederick Edoghotu and Mr Dickson K. took turn to deliver their lectures, the Director of Training in the Commission, Chief Inenyo Yousuo thanked God for the success of the event.

Highpoint of the workshop was presentation of certificates to participants.
